Terms and conditions of service

These terms apply to anyone who books a consultation or uses this website. The practice belongs to Alejandro Javier Quezada Ramírez, a Mexican attorney with professional license (cédula profesional) 6462824, at Calle 31 No. 212-C, between 30 and 32, García Ginerés, Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico.

1. The website is general information

The articles and videos on this site explain how certain legal matters work in Mexico. They are not legal advice about your situation. Every case depends on its documents and facts, and that is what a consultation is for.

Messaging me on WhatsApp, emailing me or booking a consultation does not make me your attorney in a case. Representation starts when we sign a services agreement and the agreed payment is made.

2. The consultation

Length: 45 minutes, by video call, phone or in person at my office, by appointment.

Fee: US$100. Surrogacy consultations are US$200.

What it covers: reviewing your situation and documents, explaining your options, and telling you what I would do, how long it would take and what it would cost.

What it does not cover: drafting filings, filing lawsuits or attending hearings. Those are quoted separately. The consultation fee is separate from the fees for your case and is not credited against them.

3. Payment

Video and phone consultations are paid in advance, in US dollars or the equivalent in Mexican pesos, by Wise transfer. In-person consultations are paid at the office. Your appointment is confirmed once I receive payment.

4. Rescheduling and refunds

If you need to move your appointment, let me know by WhatsApp or email. If you miss the call, we reschedule.

If the consultation does not take place, you get your money back.

5. Fees for your case

If you decide to hire me, you get a written quote before any work starts. Cases are billed as a flat fee, so you know the full cost from the beginning. Payment terms go in the services agreement.

Costs that are not attorney fees (certified copies, apostilles, certified translations, expert reports, travel) are paid separately.

6. No guaranteed outcomes

No attorney can guarantee how a case will end: a judge decides. What I can promise is a straight answer about the risks in your case and serious work on it.

7. Where I practice

Family and criminal matters in Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo. Disputes with CFE, the federal power company, anywhere in Mexico.

If you live outside Mexico, for almost everything I will need a power of attorney, signed before a notary or at a Mexican consulate. I will tell you which one in the consultation.

8. Communication

Most of the time, I answer emails and WhatsApp messages the same business day. Messages are not a substitute for a consultation: if your situation needs a proper review, I will suggest booking one.

9. Personal data

How your data is handled is explained in the Privacy notice.

10. Changes

I may update these terms. The version that applies is the one on this page.
