If this just happened

What not to do: wait. None of these proceedings is fast, and how quickly you act at the start shapes everything that follows. Don't let weeks go by hoping it will sort itself out.

  1. File a missing-person report where you live. Do it with the authorities in your own country, today.
  2. The moment it's confirmed your child has left the country, start the child return process. Speed matters here.
  3. Gather every piece of evidence you can. Messages, travel records, school and medical records, custody orders, photos. Anything that shows where your child lived and what was agreed.

The cases I take

International child return

A child brought to Mexico, or kept here, without the other parent's consent. This is the core of my family practice.

Visitation for parents abroad

You live outside Mexico, your children live here with their mother or father, and you want regular, enforceable time with them.

Child support across borders

Setting it up properly, or fixing an arrangement that isn't working.

Why work with me

International child return is the core of my family practice. In 2026 alone I had three of these cases running at the same time.

I'll tell you plainly how strong your position is under Mexican law, including when the answer isn't the one you hoped for.

How it works

  1. You message me with what happened and when.
  2. If it's urgent, we talk the same day.
  3. I tell you which proceeding fits your case and what evidence it needs.
  4. You grant a power of attorney, before a notary or at a Mexican consulate, and I act for you in Mexico.

The consultation: US$100 · 45 minutes.

The case: a flat fee, quoted individually after the consultation. You get it in writing before any work starts.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a child return case take in Mexico?

About a year, counting the trial, the appeal and the amparo. It takes that long no matter what. After that comes enforcement: getting the parent who took the child to hand them over, which usually means asking for police support.

I'm the parent in Mexico and the other parent has filed against me. Do you take those cases?

Yes. I represent parents on either side, never both in the same case.

I just want to see my kids. Do I need a full custody case?

Not necessarily. Visitation and child support can be negotiated.

Do I need to travel to Mexico?

You have three options for hearings: attend in person, attend by video call, or be represented through a power of attorney. I've had cases handled each way.
